It is one thing for people to gather for a time of engagement and growth. It is another when that gathering of engagement and growth is experienced feeling like a family.
The Glenview Hotel and Leisure Club is a 4-star hotel tucked away in Wicklow Co. in the beautiful country of Ireland. With its doors open to guests since the early 1900s, it has provided a relaxing and peaceful retreat for anyone visiting.
For our client, we wanted to find a place that would accommodate the number of planned guests while also providing an inviting and warm atmosphere. Glenview Hotel and Leisure Club provided just that for this annual conference.
The hotel is nestled amongst beautifully curated gardens and woodlands across 30 acres. Just a short distance from the west coast of the country, and only 30 minutes from lively Dublin, it is a perfect place to go with loved ones or to gather as a group to relax and recharge.
The hotel boasts 72 beautiful rooms that provide modern amenities coupled with a nostalgic essence that makes you feel as if you were in a different era of time. Dining is no disappointment either, with two restaurants available on the ground and first floor of the hotel. Whether it is a full English breakfast or the smooth and conforming flavours of a roast, guests can enjoy fine dining. This venue and the service were not only stunning but also able to accommodate all 120 guests who participated in our client’s yearly conference.
Early arrivals were met with open arms to assist with their personal belongings so they could prepare to take a ride out into the countryside to one of Ireland’s oldest monastic sites, Glendalough. With a graciously prepared lunch by the hotel, the attendees were whisked off to explore this ancient settlement.
During conference time attendees gathered in a gorgeous room, affectionately named ‘The Library’. The many windows and ample lighting created the perfect atmosphere for engagement of the many topics that were discussed throughout the week. Hotel staff would provide coffee, tea, water and refreshments for mid-morning and mid-afternoon pick-me-ups while attendees conversed just outside.
Guests of our client also enjoyed fine dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner at one of Glenview’s award-winning restaurants, The Woodlands. The pleasant aromas of carefully curated dishes welcome attendees each day. Every meal came with delicious flavors and an opportunity for continued connection among attendees. We collaborated with the restaurant to ensure dietary needs were met and provided efficient and quality service during meals. Always attentive, the staff ensured that everyone was able to partake in the wonderful culinary experience at The Woodlands.
Outside of conference time, those who wanted some time in nature were free to roam the gardens or embark on a woodland walk. The Leisure Club also boasts a swimming pool available with plenty of swim time and spa treatments that guests had an opportunity to sign up for.
In addition to the club and the gardens, The Conservatory, a restaurant on the ground floor provided evening entertainment and an inviting atmosphere for attendees to continue connecting with one another long after the sessions of the day were complete. As attendees mingled, memories were made.
Towards the end of the conference, attendees had the option to participate in a baptism that was held at the club pool on the other side of the hotel. It was a beautiful moment in time as those participating did in an act of faith and commitment. By the end of the week, hearts were filled and rejuvenated.
One of the elements of the hotel that stood out the most and enhanced the overall experience of the attendees, was the exceptional service of the hotel staff. From answering questions to accommodating the size of the client, the staff was nothing short of gracious, kind, informative and friendly. While dining, the restaurant staff were intentional to make sure everyone had what they needed and engaged in friendly banter.
The level of hospitality displayed was incredible. So often, the experience can change in an instant when you interact with others. The staff, with their warm smiles and attentive disposition, played a part in creating fond and lovely memories for all who attended.
